Speaking from the Heart: a Preview
Many spiritual traditions consider our hearts the center of our
deepest emotions, intuition, and wisdom. When we speak from the heart, we speak
a spiritual communication from this inner source of knowing. We express
ourselves in a way that is aligned with our highest level and our truest level ourselves.
This kind of spiritual communication is deeply real and personal. It is also
deeply transformative, as it can help us to connect with others on a more
profound level.
Speaking from the heart honors our individual and personal humanity while simultaneously honoring the humanity of others. When we speak from the heart, we are acknowledging our own fear of vulnerability and fragility, but act out our authenticity, anyway. We are sufficiently mature to know others live out their own fear experience of vulnerability and fragility, but they too act it out, anyway. This helps us to cultivate a sense of compassion and empathy, which are essential qualities for building strong relationships and a sense of community.
Our feelings and emotions reveal to us that speaking from the heart
demands a level of courage and strength that we did not previously know. It can
be difficult to open ourselves up in this way, especially if we are afraid of
being judged, rejected, or mistreated. When we are able to overcome these fears
and speak from the heart, we often find that our words have a powerful impact
on others, and that we are able to connect with them in a deeper, more profound
and meaningful way.
Ultimately, speaking from the heart in a spiritual context is about being true to ourselves and to our highest ideals. It is a way of expressing our deepest values, hopes, aspirations, and of inviting others to join us on this journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. When we speak from the heart, we are opening ourselves up to the possibility of transformation and healing, both for ourselves and for those around us. It is a wonderful life filled with the majesty of love’s beauty and grace. Go get yours.
